PDP Chieftain Labels Fayose and Bode George as Gluttons, Endorses Atiku for 2027

Segun Adewale, a key chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has slammed former Governor Ayodele Fayose, Bode George, and other critics of ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing them of being driven by greed and self-interest.

Speaking on Friday, Adewale, who previously served as the PDP chairman in Lagos, defended Atiku, saying, “Atiku is one of the few politicians who is satisfied with what he has. His critics, however, are gluttons, always seeking more. It is unfortunate that the strongest opposition to Atiku comes from within his own party.”

Adewale rejected calls for Atiku to leave the PDP, stressing that no one should undermine his political career. He responded to recent remarks from George and Fayose, who had advised Atiku against running for president in 2027.

George called on Atiku to resign over allegations of anti-party activities, while Fayose vowed to oppose Atiku’s 2027 presidential ambitions.

Adewale countered, “Atiku has been tested and tried. He is one of the few politicians content with what he has. He understands the challenges facing Nigeria and its political landscape. Unlike others, who only seek power for personal gain, Atiku is committed to the country.”

He added, “Anyone within the PDP who suggests Atiku should not run in 2027 is working against the party and the nation. These individuals are only focused on their own interests, not the well-being of the people. We must disregard their opinions.”

Adewale concluded by emphasizing that no opposition party, including the Labour Party, could defeat the ruling party alone.
