Air Peace Takes Delivery of First Embraer E175 to Expand Regional Operations

Lagos, Nigeria — July 9, 2026

Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, has taken delivery of its first factory-new Embraer E175 aircraft, marking another milestone in the carrier’s fleet expansion and regional growth strategy.

The aircraft, manufactured by Brazilian aerospace company Embraer, was officially delivered on June 30, 2026. It becomes the newest addition to Air Peace’s fleet, which already includes Embraer E195-E2 jets and ERJ145 regional aircraft, as well as Boeing 737s and Boeing 777s.

According to Embraer, the E175 will provide Air Peace with greater operational flexibility, allowing the airline to increase flight frequencies on domestic and regional routes while serving markets where demand does not require larger aircraft. The model seats up to 88 passengers and is designed for short- to medium-haul operations.

Air Peace Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Onyema, described the delivery as an important step in the airline’s long-term development.

“The delivery of our first Embraer E175 is a major milestone in Air Peace’s growth, reflecting our commitment to boosting domestic and regional travel with a modern, efficient fleet,” Onyema said.

Embraer’s President and CEO of Commercial Aviation, Arjan Meijer, said the aircraft is well suited for airlines seeking to improve connectivity while maintaining operational efficiency.

The E175 joins Air Peace’s existing Embraer fleet, complementing its larger E195-E2 aircraft and smaller ERJ145 jets. Embraer said the combination gives the airline additional flexibility to match aircraft size with passenger demand across different routes.

The aircraft arrived in Lagos after a ferry flight from Brazil and has been registered in Nigeria as 5N-CGH. Air Peace said the new jet forms part of its fleet modernization programme aimed at improving operational performance and expanding services across Nigeria and other African destinations.

Air Peace currently operates one of the largest commercial airline fleets in West Africa, serving domestic destinations across Nigeria as well as regional and international routes. The addition of the E175 is expected to strengthen the airline’s ability to deploy aircraft more efficiently on routes with varying passenger demand.

Embraer has identified growing opportunities for regional air connectivity across Africa, noting that right-sized aircraft such as the E175 can help airlines open new routes and improve service frequencies between underserved cities.

The delivery also strengthens the long-standing partnership between Air Peace and Embraer, which began with the acquisition of the airline’s ERJ145 and E195-E2 aircraft. Both companies say the latest addition reflects their shared focus on improving regional air transport and supporting connectivity within West and Central Africa.
