Ohio Sen. JD Vance, who transformed from a critic of Donald Trump to one of his staunchest supporters, officially accepted the GOP vice presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night in Milwaukee.

“A Night of Hope”

In his speech, Vance emphasized Trump’s commitment to “put America first” and described the evening as a “night of hope” following the former president’s recent survival of an assassination attempt. Trump and Vance will launch their campaign with a rally this Saturday in the crucial battleground state of Michigan.

 

JD Vance is a United States Senator from Ohio, best known for his memoir Hillbilly Elegy, which chronicles his upbringing in a working-class family in Middletown, Ohio, and his journey to Yale Law School. The book garnered widespread attention for its portrayal of the struggles faced by the white working class in America.

Vance entered politics and was elected to the U.S. Senate, representing Ohio. Initially a critic of Donald Trump, he eventually became one of Trump’s staunchest supporters. His shift in allegiance reflected his alignment with Trump’s policies and his belief in Trump’s vision for America.
