In a resounding show of confidence and unity, Christian Opara has been re-elected unopposed as the President (onye-isi) of the Obowo Family Union Houston (OFUH), alongside all serving committee members, marking a renewed mandate for a team that has championed growth, transparency, and community development.
This unopposed victory is a testament to the collective trust and appreciation the Obowo community in Houston has for Opara and his leadership. Under his stewardship, OFUH has become more vibrant and reinforced the cultural identity and ties to the homeland.
During one of the recent OFUH meetings, Attorney Henry Nnabugwu passionately recounted how many Obowians have taken the bold step of building houses in their ancestral villages, a development he directly attributed to the encouragement, vision, and pride rekindled under Christian’s regime.
“It goes beyond meetings and social gatherings. What we’re seeing is real change back home in Obowo; people are returning, building homes, and reconnecting with their roots. While this started in past administrations, it’s become even more evident and impactful under Christian’s current leadership.”
