The 2023/2024 graduating set of the prestigious University of Ibadan has witnessed a truly remarkable moment in academic excellence as Busoye Opegbemi Matthias and Busoye Tolulope Matthew, twin brothers, have been celebrated as the Overall Best Graduating Students of both the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Faculty of Technology.

Each graduating with a stellar CGPA of 3.94/4.00, the brothers have etched their names in the university’s history, not only for their academic brilliance but also for their leadership and service to the student body.
Matthias, who served as the Honourable Speaker of the University of Ibadan Students’ Representative Council (UISU-SRC), was known for his eloquence, integrity, and commitment to student advocacy.
Matthew, on the other hand, distinguished himself as the President of the Society of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Students (SEEEES-UI), leading with innovation, inclusion, and impact throughout his tenure.
Their exceptional journey through UI’s rigorous engineering program serves as a shining example of what is possible with focus, discipline, and a commitment to both learning and community.
As the Society of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Students proudly celebrated this milestone, it also underscored the importance of nurturing both intellect and leadership — and these two graduates embody that ideal perfectly.
Congratulations to Busoye Matthias and Busoye Matthew — your journey is an inspiration, and the future looks electrifying!
